That is how Ana Maria’s Grandpa Don always ordered his breakfast egg. He probably would not have believed that it would one day turn into three cafés in Frankfurt. But that is exactly how it all began.
In 2019 the two of us, Ana Maria and Dennis, founded Sunny Side Up because we felt that breakfast can be more than bread rolls and jam. More creativity, more inspiration and more of what we came to love on our travels. Today you will find us in the Westend, the Nordend and in Sachsenhausen.

With modern international breakfast dishes, a weekly changing Lunch, homemade cakes from our own bakery and specialty coffee from Hoppenworth & Ploch.
Everything vegetarian, much of it vegan or gluten-free and with less sugar where it makes sense. What is currently on the menu changes with the season.
The people behind it
Just as important to us as the food are the people behind it. Our international team brings together different cultures, stories and personalities. That is exactly what makes Sunny Side Up what it is.
Seven years, three cafés and quite a few breakfast eggs and pancakes later, we are still independent, family-run and happiest doing things our own way.
